Astrominer
🏆 Highly rated entry in the Brackeys 15 Game Jam! 🏆
Astrominer is a fast-paced action-roguelite where you defend a lone mining station against an endless barrage of asteroids. You have no standard weapons—just your cursor, a pulsing AoE kill-zone, and the upgrades you draft along the way.
The Core Loop
- 🖱️ Cursor Combat: Move your mouse to catch and crush asteroids inside your pulsing damage circle.
- 🛡️ Defend the Station: Destroy the swarm before they crash into your base.
- 🃏 Draft Your Build: Level up from collected resources and pick roguelike cards to create crazy synergies.
- ⚙️ Die and Retry: Spend cores from massive boss kills on permanent metaprogression upgrades between runs.
The Void Pushes Back You're stationed at the edge of known space — a place no one was meant to stay. Asteroids swarm from the deep in strange varieties, and massive bosses loom every minute, growing exponentially stronger.
Survive as long as you can... until you inevitably explode.

Kinda sad how easy it is to totally max everything out too...
Should be an upgrade to increase max upgrades of the non-permanent upgrades
I may have broken the game by getting an upgrade right as I died...
This game just instantly clicks, which is super impressive. Very satisfying to blast the asteroids. I think the sfx could be improved as the effects were a little harsh. Also, I think a quicker turnround between runs as in shorter runs with more focus on progression could work well for a game of this style as the gameplay itself isn't too challenging or complex
Initially a very addicting game. Wonderful loop and catchy music and sound effects. The only critical feedback i can give is that when you get far out into the game and realise you have maxed your damage / radius etc you no longer get those upgrades, and you end up loosing just because at some point you can't kill the asteroids fast enough and there is nothing you can really do about it. It robs that "building for specific strat" feeling.
but other than that i had a blast, got hooked for a solid hour on this, great fun game!
